Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes
The Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes were established in 1949 and considered to be Japan's premier event for juvenile racehorses. The Group 1 turf event is scheduled for December each year and run over 1600m at the Nakayama Racecourse in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture. The race is held under set weight conditions of 55 kilograms with 1 kilogram allowance for fillies. The combination of tight track and short dash to the first turn can disadvantage horses starting from outside barriers.
